Lurking Giants features two maps — Forest and City — each with distinct terrain, hiding opportunities, and danger zones. Your survival strategy must adapt to each map's unique layout.

Core Mechanics

Forest favors stealth with natural cover. City favors vertical play with rooftops and tunnels. Both maps have distinct danger zones that change strategy.

Advantages

Knowing map-specific hiding spots and danger zones dramatically increases survival rate.

Challenges

Only 2 maps currently exist, and map burnout is common. The community has requested a third map (Backrooms theme).

Frequently Asked Questions

Which map is better for survivors?

Forest is generally easier for new survivors because natural cover (bushes, caves) is more forgiving. City requires mastery of vertical routes and tunnel networks.

How does map voting work?

During intermission, enter Alpha, Beta, or Charlie gates to vote for a map. The map with the most votes is selected. 2x Voting Power game pass doubles your vote.

Is there a third map coming?

Community requests include a Backrooms-themed map, but ULTRA works has not confirmed a third map. The VERITY rework may include map updates.

Quick Tips

Forest: rotate cave → tree cover between pulses
City: use tunnel networks for safe relocation
Never dead-end on rooftops in City — always keep an exit
